What is Ellucian Live?

A.

Ellucian Live is the annual conference for Ellucian customers and offers an excellent opportunity to network, learn about solutions, and share ideas with over 8,200 participants.

Q.

Who should attend the conference?

A.

Ellucian Live 2015 is a customer-focused event. We strongly encourage all customers from organizations with current maintenance agreements to attend. The program offers a wide range of track offerings that ensure learning for all levels of participants.

Q.

When does the conference begin?

A.

The conference officially opens on Sunday, April 12. There are several pre-conference programs, including training, the Degree Works Forum (starting on April 10th) and Executive Forum (starting on April 11th).

When does the conference end?

A.

The conference ends after sessions conclude on Wednesday, April 15, around 1:15 p.m. You will definitely want to stay for the duration so you don’t miss any valuable sessions, as the schedule will be full each day. Likewise, we will have an outstanding endnote speaker scheduled.

What does it cost to attend?

A.

What if I’m not able to register on Saturday?

A.

You will need your name badge to attend all conference activities. If you can’t get to registration on Saturday, arrive first thing Sunday morning. Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 12.

May I bring a guest?

A.

You will be able to purchase a guest pass. The guest pass fee ($75 per person) entitles your guest(s) to attend the customer event on Tuesday evening, April 14. Guest fees must be paid (via credit card only) at the time the guest pass is purchased. There will be no refunds on guest fees after March 10, 2015, and no on-site guest pass purchases will be available. Please be advised that guests of attendees are not permitted to attend sessions, visit the exhibit hall, or participate in any of the meal functions.

Where will sessions be held?

A.

Conference activities and sessions will be held at the New Orleans Convention Center, the Hilton New Orleans hotel, and Sheraton New Orleans hotel.

Q.

How will I know what sessions to attend?

A.

We strongly encourage you to build your session schedule via the online Connect tool before you get to New Orleans. If there are multiple people from your organization attending the conference, you may want to coordinate with them to allow the best coverage of sessions.
The Connect feature on the website will be available in Feburary and will be your tool to build your unique itinerary. Review all of the sessions being offered—not just ones directly related to your area—to experience the full advantages of Ellucian Live.

What are some good ways to network at the conference?

A.

The contacts you make at the conference become a wonderful source of information for current and future interaction.
  • Bring plenty of business cards to exchange with the people you meet.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask questions—especially of those who have attended the conference before.
  • Review the online attendee directory to find institutions that are similar to yours or are located in your geographical area. Locate and meet these people at the conference.
  • Check out the Exhibit Hall to get a glimpse of the latest and greatest solutions from Ellucian partners.
  • Visit the Action Line Center and meet your Action Line representatives in person even if you don’t have a current problem requiring their attention. It’s always good to “put a face with a name” for more open and effective communication in the future.
  • Check out the user labs for a hands-on experience with all Ellucian solutions—even ones you’re evaluating for the future.

Will there be shuttle service among conference hotels and the New Orleans Convention Center?

Please see the hotel info page of the website for specific shuttle information for each official hotel service.

Q.

What is the dress code for the conference?

A.

The conference is business casual—and don't forget to bring and wear your most comfortable pair of shoes. Attire for the event on Tuesday evening is casual. The temperature in the session rooms varies so if you are prone to getting cold, carry a light sweater with you.

Q.

If I attend a session eligible for CPE credits, where do I get the paperwork?

A.

CPE credit form(s) will be available for download and printing on the Ellucian Live 2015 website prior to the conference and can be picked up at the registration desk on-site. Forms need to be signed by both you and the session leader.

Q.

Is Ellucian providing free Wi-Fi access?

A.

Yes, Wi-Fi access will be available for Ellucian Live attendees throughout all of the New Orleans Convention Center (except in the Exhibit Hall) and at the meeting space located at the Sheraton and Hilton hotels.
