Highlights from Ellucian World Tour Dublin 2016

On June 7th-8th, the Ellucian World Tour kicked off with its first stop in Dublin. The event was packed with nearly 200 attendees from more than 65 institutions in attendance.

Inspiring speakers

Attendees enjoyed a full line-up of engaging speakers.

On day 1, Dr. Michael Moore, vice president for academic affairs for the University of Arkansas System and chief academic officer/chief operating officer for the University of Arkansas System eVersity, spoke about the new University of Arkansas and why they offer affordable, accessible, workforce-relevant undergraduate degrees. A phrase that Moore used that everyone is now repeating: “College should be hard, going to college should not be”.

On day 2, Joe Simpson, mountaineer, author and Greenpeace activist captivated the audience with his inspiring story, the basis for his book Touching the Void. “Success is about choice, not chance,” said Simpson.

Informative sessions

After a product strategy update given by John Kopcke, senior vice president and chief technology officer and Kari Branjord, senior vice president, product management, ERP, attendees chose from a number of breakout sessions to gain valuable information from our clients about their successes. Ellucian sessions included topics such as the usability workshop, Ellucian Ethos Platform, Ellucian Workflow and Banner XE.

Throughout the sessions, attendees worked together to build a strong community of higher education professionals dedicated to ensuring that students—no matter where they are—have the right tools, support and technology to succeed in the 21st century.

Networking and fun

After a busy day full of enlightening sessions, attendees gathered for a gala dinner at the Guinness Storehouse. Guests learned how to pull the perfect pint and had the opportunity to experience some Irish culture with a flash mob of Irish dancers.
