Compton Community College District chooses Ellucian cloud-based ERP

Compton Community College District (CCCD) selected Ellucian Banner as its enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. Deployed in a Software as a Service (SaaS) environment, Ellucian Banner will facilitate Compton College’s focus on student success while streamlining business processes and increasing effective flow of information and communication.
Compton College encompasses an area of about 29 square miles, making educational services available to nearly 300,000 residents in Los Angeles County for more than nine decades. Nearly 290 faculty members teach more than 40 degree programmes and 20 certificate programmes, preparing its roughly 500 annual graduates to either transfer or enter the workforce.
After a loss of accreditation more than a decade ago, the CCCD partnered with the El Camino Community College District to continue to serve students and began work to regain independent accreditation. Granted initial accreditation in June 2017, Compton College is in the process of transitioning from the partnership to an independent college under the CCCD. Compton College is presented with a unique opportunity to redefine its business process and technology needs before the separation from El Camino College is complete in June 2019.

Compton College will use Banner to capitalise on the proliferation of personal mobile devices on campus allowing access to essential services anywhere at any time. Additionally, SaaS deployment will help the college avoid customisations, decrease maintenance costs, easily access the most current application releases, and allow for integration with other systems campus-wide.

The California Community College System is the largest in the country with 114 colleges in 73 districts, serving more than two million students each year. As a result of deep knowledge of the California reporting requirements and proven track record in the state, Ellucian holds 83 percent of the total market share with 61 of the 73 districts using Ellucian’s ERP solutions.
