EC Higher Education increases efficiency and insights with Ellucian CRM Recruit
EC Higher Education (EC), a global education organisation spanning five countries, chose Ellucian CRM Recruit® to streamline processes in the recruitment of global students. Through this partnership, EC will be able to better find, engage, and enroll students and take advantage of analytics that will drive greater admissions yield.
For almost 30 years EC has used a vast network of international agents to recruit students globally for language schools in the United Kingdom, United States and Canada, and has expanded their partnership operations to recruit and prepare global students for higher education institutions within the U.S.
Previously, EC used database software and manual tools to track student applications and data, however in 2017 the business grew to a point where these tools were no longer supporting the large remote team of agents. Looking for better performance and reporting in the recruitment process, leadership began evaluating tools that would provide better visibility into student details, and create a central portal with real-time tracking capabilities that is accessible from any location.
“It just became impossible for us to manage the manual tasks and mass amounts of paperwork,” said Torben Lundberg, chief information officer, EC Higher Education. “We needed a solution that would better support our remote, global network of recruiters and agents while streamlining the process for applicants.”
Another major driver for the move to CRM Recruit was the need for better business intelligence and increased reporting capabilities. With agents and students around the globe, lead tracking for EC is a complex process. Access to up-to-date student status and university information is critical to prevent mistakes that could result in a student not getting into their institution of choice, or the university partner not meeting expected enrollment goals.
“The motivation for the move to new software is partly to save costs and make it easier for agents to manage and track applicant data, but the ultimate goal for us is to improve our conversion ratio—that’s where CRM Recruit will be of extreme value,” said Lundberg.
