University College of Bahrain partners with Ellucian to enhance innovation in higher education
College selects cloud-based student administration system to help transform the student experience and drive student success
Ellucian, the global leading provider of higher education software and services, today announced that the company is partnering with the University College of Bahrain and MDSL to implement Ellucian Quercus.
Quercus is a cloud based student administration system that enables higher education institutions to deliver a superior experience for students on any browser or mobile device.

Quercus is hosted in reliable and secure cloud data centers that provide scaling and high resilience facilities for operating mission critical applications. Ellucian’s data centers are certified to comply with Information Security standards. The SaaS platform operates across three physical data centers to ensure resilience.

About University College of Bahrain
The University College of Bahrain was founded in 2001 by Dr Khalid Bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, a member of the Royal Family of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
UCB is a not-for-profit institution recognised by the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a provider of higher education. UCB is a new and private “Western-style” university designed to provide an international teaching and learning experience entirely conducted in the English language, particularly specialising in Business Administration, Communication & Multimedia and Information Technology.
UCB provides a rigorous curriculum (based on a semester credit hour system) in the American liberal arts tradition. Many students are drawn from the leading families in the Gulf Region with about 55% female intake and an aggressive and ambitious development programme is in place to grow student numbers and facilities over the next 10 years. UCB is located in its own self-contained and walled purpose-built campus in Saar.
