RESTON, VA – Ellucian, the leading provider of software and services built to power higher education, today announced that the University of the Cumberlands (UC), a private liberal arts university based in Williamsburg, Kentucky, has gone live with Ellucian Banner as its SaaS-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
UC selected Banner SaaS in late 2017 with a goal of managing the university’s tremendous growth and integrating data from its multiple campuses and online school. Additionally, by deploying Ellucian’s SaaS-based software, each of UC’s functional units will be able to streamline processes, better embrace best practices and improve the experience for faculty and students alike.
“The move to Banner SaaS is much more than just implementing a new ERP, with the cloud deployment we’re now confident that we can scale alongside our expected enrolment growth—we’ve gone from 1,800 to nearly 14,000 over the past 10 years—and we’re able to provide the best user experience possible to our students 365 days a year,” said University of the Cumberlands VP of Information Services Donnie Grimes, Ph.D., CISSP. “Ellucian’s experts kept the project on track and served as a wealth of hands-on, higher ed specific knowledge, ensuring a successful migration–they have been a great partner in our move to the cloud.”
Within 24 hours of its launch, the system logged more than 6,900 registrations by more than 2,600 students. The new Banner ecosystem, supported by Ellucian Ethos and Ellucian Analytics platforms, will empower users to manage institutional and student data within one dashboard, while enabling insightful reporting that will illuminate trends, highlight progress and inform decisions. The university will also be implementing Banner Financial Aid and Banner HR in 2019.
“We are thrilled to not only provide UC with a solution that will scale alongside its rapid growth, but one that also creates the seamless digital experience students have come to expect,” said Ellucian Chief Customer Officer, Chris Collins. “This first registration live on Banner SaaS is an important milestone for UC and we are happy to have achieved it together.”
