Enhancing career services to give students an edge

After several years of developing successful digital technology tools such as career assessments, centralised internship and career databases, and online appointment scheduling for its career services office, Edinboro University of Pennsylvania realised that many of these tools were scattered across multiple platforms. Each resource required a different web address, login, and process. Users were also reporting a lackluster experience while using these tools.

Edinboro decided to not only improve the user experience and increase access to these valuable resources, but also re-imagine what a modern, efficient career services office can do. Edinboro began by bringing together all of its digital resources and tools for student and alumni career development using information curated for their interests, while also integrating information for staff, faculty, prospective students, and their families. In doing so, the institution provided a streamlined, responsive experience for its users, while creating efficiencies for its small staff of career services professionals.

We have been able to analyse our student appointment data to pinpoint the most popular days of the week and times of day for our students—something we were not able to do before the technology.
