Change leadership helps Yeshiva University maximise its return on technology.

The role of IT has changed on campus. It used to respond and now it has to be more proactive as new technologies develop. Change leadership is kind of an organisational strategy to help organisations, people specifically, cope with their changing roles and the changing environment, especially that technology brings to the forefront.
We actually brought in an Ellucian expert to be able to help, not just lead my managers and directors in change leadership, but we invited directors and leaders from throughout the university to understand the psychology in some of the proven methods to ease an organisation through major changes.
We've formed some very large advisory committees. And we do what we call roadshows to try and explain not only why we have to do this, but what we perceive is the impact. If you don't engage actively in change leadership, you do it at your own risk.
I mean you can have the best technologies and the best rollout plans in the world. But if your constituency isn't on board and they don't understand the reason for the change, and they don't understand that you understand the impact on their lives, it's not going to be successful.
And there's a very large chance that the whole initiative may fail. So, it's a very important part of IT organisations, particularly, because we tend to initiate a lot of change just due to the pace of change in technology in general.
