With mobile-ready and self-service, a world-class institution is born.
Provide leading applications and services to meet the needs of students and a growing university
- First integrated student services platform
- Kuwait’s first mobile-enabled university
- Meeting users’ expectations for services
Through technology, an institution evolves along with student needs.
The American University of Kuwait (AUK) always seems to be breaking new ground. Since it opened in 2004, AUK became the first university in Kuwait to have a fully-integrated student services platform and the first to have a comprehensive mobile strategy.
The institution achieved these notable firsts and built its reputation as a leading university recognised locally, regionally, and internationally.
However, the young institution saw a clear need early on to become a mobile-ready campus, have a more robust online portal for students and administrators, and support every part of the institution with a highly capable, extensible ERP system that could grow with the institution as it, too, continued to evolve.
“The demand for technology has increased and the needs of the institution have increased since we first opened our doors,” said Rusty Bruns, IT director at AUK.
To meet those needs and maintain the institution’s status as a standard-bearer for innovation, technology, and service in the region, AUK implemented Ellucian Banner® and Ellucian’s mobile and web platform solutions, too.
Today, students, faculty, and administrators can access all the resources they need through the university’s portal, and staff can execute many of their administrative processes through self-service applications. Most importantly, the institution continues to grow while still leading the way.
The demand for technology has increased and the needs of the institution have increased since we first opened our doors. With our partnership with Ellucian, we have been able to stay a step ahead of other institutions in the region.Rusty Bruns, IT Director, American University of Kuwait
