Dr. Joe Sallustio serves as Chief of Industry Engagement at Ellucian. In this role, he connects institutional leaders with the strategies and innovations they need to navigate higher education's most pressing challenges — from AI integration and digital transformation to enrollment strategy and student success.
Joe brings a combination of executive technology leadership and deep operational experience to this work. Over 25 years, he's led enrollment, marketing, financial operations, and student services across non-profit and for-profit institutions. He's scaled enrollment, built entire divisions from scratch, and led institutions through mergers and acquisitions.
As co-founder and host of The EdUp Experience Podcast, Joe has interviewed over 500+ college and university presidents and over 1,400 higher education leaders, resulting in over 750,000 downloads.
Joe's new book, Beyond Survival: Reporting From The Front Lines Of Higher Education's War For Relevance, was released in August of 2026. He serves as a Senior Consultant for AGB and is the co-author of Digital Transformation for Colleges and Universities: How Governing Boards Shape Strategy for Success, and Commencement: The Beginning of a New Era in Higher Education.
Joe is a frequent keynote speaker, presenter, and moderator. He holds an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership from National University.
