ROSWELL, NM and RESTON, VA — Ellucian, the leading higher education technology solutions provider, today announced that New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) has selected Ellucian Student, Human Capital Management (HCM), and Finance powered by Colleague, a comprehensive SaaS-native and AI-powered Student Information System (SIS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution, to modernise core technology operations. By transforming student, HR, and financial management processes, NMMI will streamline Cadet services and advance the administrative backbone that supports nearly 1,000 Cadets.
Strengthening the technology systems behind the Cadet experience
Building on nearly 25 years as an Ellucian customer, NMMI is investing in a more modern, SaaS-native technology foundation to better connect the people, processes, and information that support Cadets throughout their journey — enabling consistent support, improved visibility, and modern self-service experiences aligned to the Institute's mission to develop leaders in a distinctive military learning environment.
"As New Mexico Military Institute modernises its core operations, it is doing so in service of a diverse Cadet community," said Laura Ipsen, President and CEO, Ellucian. "With Ellucian Student, HCM, and Finance, NMMI is strengthening the foundation behind every Cadet interaction so teams can deliver consistent, dependable support across the learner journey. This selection reflects a broader shift we're seeing across New Mexico as institutions prioritise modern technology built specifically for higher education."
Positioning the Institute for continuous improvement
As NMMI modernises, the Institute will standardise and automate key workflows to deliver faster, more reliable service to Cadets — while simultaneously improving data consistency and making reporting more efficient to support compliance needs.
"NMMI is a unique institution, and we needed a technology partner that could support our model while helping us modernise in a practical, mission-aligned way," said Lt. Col. Matthew Klipstine, Director of Information Technology, New Mexico Military Institute. "With Ellucian, we're unifying core systems that support Cadets and the teams who serve them — improving insight, streamlining key processes, and expanding self-service capabilities. This modernization strengthens how we deliver services today and positions us well for the future."
With implementation planning underway, NMMI will transition in phases aligned to institutional timelines, establishing a strong foundation for continuous improvement in how the Institute supports Cadets, faculty, and staff.
