- ECU will now be able to better trust the data and analytics produced by their ERP while leveraging those insights to better inform decisions.
East Central University (ECU), a public university located in Ada, Oklahoma, has selected Ellucian Colleague as its enterprise resource planning (ERP) software to enable on-campus modernization and increase innovative capabilities for its students and staff.
ECU previously relied on an aging ERP solution which required tedious manual processes and significant maintenance costs. The school wanted to create a better user experience and propel new, campus-wide digital offerings by migrating to a more advanced and innovative solution. By selecting Colleague, ECU is now well positioned to achieve this digital transformation along with important cost savings that will free up resources for other campus initiatives.
Ellucian Colleague will enable data integration between departments, allowing ECU to significantly reduce the amount of time spent on administrative tasks. Individual student data will be accessible via a user-friendly mobile application, providing increased transparency and self-service in navigating historically complex processes such as degree planning and financial aid. Intuitive degree audit and visualizations tools will also make it easier for students and advisors to determine the right path to graduation, communicate clear goals, and ensure that students are getting the support and resources they need to be successful.
With all student and university information stored in one system, rather than several siloed databases, ECU will be able to better trust the data and analytics produced by their ERP while leveraging those insights to better inform decisions. Using highly accurate data, university staff will also be able to more efficiently complete reporting mandated by the state of Oklahoma.
“The response we have received from other Regional University Schools of Oklahoma (RUSO) schools about their interactions with Ellucian has been overwhelmingly positive,” said East Central University President Katricia Pierson. “That feedback, combined with Ellucian’s industry knowledge, personalized demonstrations and clear understanding of our goals, instilled confidence that Colleague will set us up for success in the future. Our entire staff is very excited about this implementation and the impact that this advanced technology will have on our day-to-day operations.”
ECU is one of six sister schools that makes up the RUSO school system. Following the implementation of Colleague, every RUSO school will be live on an Ellucian ERP. This unity of fundamental technology will allow for increased collaboration and consistency that will power both student and institutional success.
“ECU’s decision to implement Colleague is a great indicator of our continued momentum in Oklahoma, and we are honored that the entire RUSO school system will be using Ellucian products going forward,” said Ellucian Senior Director of Product Management Tracy Williams. “Our team is excited to help promote on-campus innovation at ECU and collaboration throughout the university system with Ellucian Ethos to connect people, processes and applications as well as accommodate state reporting requirements. We look forward to working closely with ECU and all of the RUSO schools to help drive future innovation in the region.”
