Reston-based ed tech company recognized for providing impactful internship opportunities
RESTON, VA — Ellucian, the leading higher education technology solutions provider, today announced it has received a 2024 Top Virginia Employers for Interns award from The Virginia Talent + Opportunity Partnership (V-TOP). The annual award celebrates Virginia employers who provide high-quality internships to students.
"These employers deserve recognition for their innovative internship programs and for helping students learn and grow," said Alisha Bazemore, assistant director of innovative work-based learning initiatives at the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia. "A meaningful internship can boost career opportunities for students and, at the same time, help strengthen Virginia's workforce."
"At Ellucian, we focus on creating internships that not only provide meaningful exposure to a professional work environment but also empower interns to make real contributions," said Bill Blackford, Vice President, Global Talent Acquisition, Ellucian. "We're honored to receive this recognition and proud to provide opportunities at Ellucian that equip our interns for long-term career success at Ellucian at beyond."
This year, Ellucian's Internship Program will provide opportunities for 35 Reston, VA-based and 112 total global interns to grow their skills, gain real-world experience in technical and non-technical roles, and connect with other students, team members, and business leaders across the globe. Internships feature impactful projects tied to their field of study, dedicated one-on-one mentors and opportunities to present their work at Ellucian's capstone fair. Many interns also go on to find full-time employment at Ellucian once their internship ends.
