Ellucian Student System Supports Three Universities in Commitment to Digital Transformation
Ellucian, the leading provider of software and services built to power higher education, has today announced a trio of new partnerships in the Middle East.
The Islamic University of Lebanon (IUL), Nile University (NU) and Global Academic Foundation (GAF) have all chosen Ellucian PowerCampus through Ellucian’s partner, ITB (an ITG company).
Ellucian PowerCampus will provide these universities with a structured and scalable Student Information System (SIS) solution for greater collaboration across departments and improved student experience.
Higher education is experiencing a significant change in the Middle East, with universities in the region ramping up their digital transformation strategies. This comes as part of Egypt’s Vision 2030, which aims to position the region as an active player in the global market and achieve a competitive, balanced, diversified and knowledge-based economy. Education and training form the seventh pillar of Vision 2030, centered around an efficient, sustainable and flexible institutional framework.
Lebanon is similarly committed to delivering high quality education, as it looks to meet the local labour market needs and keep pace with the country’s evolving social and political systems.
Ellucian’s PowerCampus will give these universities the platform they need to push forward their digital transformation programs.
After exploring a range of vendors and student information systems, IUL, NU and Global Academic Foundation chose Ellucian’s PowerCampus. With a proven track record in the supply and deployment of software solutions for vertical markets, Ellucian’s partner ITB will offer comprehensive solutions tailored for colleges and universities.
Wael Akl, Provost of Nile University, said: “Ellucian PowerCampus is a cornerstone in the high-quality and intelligent higher education environment at Nile University. We are confident that our partnership with Ellucian and ITB will help us continue to deliver an excellent student experience and improve our operational efficiencies.”
Darren Hunt, SVP and Managing Director of EMEA and APAC at Ellucian, added: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with three more universities in the Middle East. As we continue to expand in the region, we’re excited to further build a strong higher education community and help universities here establish themselves on the global stage.”
PowerCampus will enhance self-service functionality and provide communication and collaboration tools for faculty, staff, students and alumni. The software will enable NU, IUL and GAF to run all administrative processes including admissions, registration, management of student records and dynamic reporting services from one place. PowerCampus will also adapt as each institution grows, whilst meeting their increasing demands.
Abla Osman, Dean of Student Affairs at Global Academic Foundation, said: “Ellucian PowerCampus is the only system I trust for safe data management and the only system that can accommodate all our student needs, from entrance to graduation.”
Ahmad Koubeissi, Advisor to the University President for Information Technology Affairs at Islamic University of Lebanon, added: “Choosing PowerCampus to be our student information system at IUL was an easy decision to make. Because of Ellucian’s expertise in higher education, we knew we were getting a solution that is built with our specific needs in mind that can scale as we grow.”
