“Ellucian’s strong management team and thousands of employees are passionate about supporting their institutional customers and the students they serve,” said Ellucian Executive Chairman, Pete Sinisgalli, who has overseen Ellucian’s executive team during the search for a CEO and will continue to serve on its board of directors. “I am confident that, with Laura’s global perspective and first-hand understanding of cloud transformation, we become even better equipped to deliver the same high-quality service and innovation that Ellucian is known for.”
Ipsen’s experience includes more than a decade at Cisco Systems, where she led an effort to transform how the world manages energy supplies and build smart-grid solutions for utilities around the world. She has also held leadership roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Acer America and Hitachi Data Systems.
“As the daughter of parents who spent their careers at colleges and universities, I find Ellucian’s singular focus on higher education to be incredibly compelling,” said Ipsen. “I truly believe that cloud delivery, combined with new integration pathways and data models, has tremendous potential to help institutions transform the student experience to one that is more connected, more personalized and more powerful. So I’m thrilled to lead this passionate team as it helps evolve the higher ed landscape.”
Currently serving on the board of Monsanto, Ipsen is the past chair of the board of the Washington, D.C.-based Information Technology Industry Council. “In the past year, Ellucian has taken meaningful steps in becoming a next-generation company, with the introduction of a comprehensive suite of cloud-ready solutions, integrated analytics, and the first data model designed solely for higher education,” said Ellucian Board Member Tim Millikin, of TPG Capital. “Laura’s appreciation for the cloud customer experience and her track record of developing and executing on innovative strategies make her a great fit to lead Ellucian.
