Southeastern Oklahoma State University (Southeastern) selected Ellucian’s Colleague® for its enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. Colleague will facilitate access to data from Southeastern's ecosystem of solutions, modernize the end user experience, and increase collaboration between Southeastern and peer schools in Oklahoma.
Southeastern Oklahoma State University is a public university located in Durant, Oklahoma that was founded in 1909. The university serves 4,000 students and each year more than 50 percent of Southeastern graduates are first-generation college graduates. Southeastern offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in a variety of disciplines that serve the needs of the region and has developed a national reputation for excellence in such fields as aviation, business, teacher education, science, and safety.
“After recognizing the need for a new ERP solution, we partnered with peer institutions—Southwest Oklahoma State University and Northwest Oklahoma State University—to evaluate software options,” said Southeastern president Sean Burrage. “To us, Ellucian provided a number of benefits, including the ability to streamline state reporting, strong implementation methodology and resources, and the ability to adapt to our needs over time.”
Through Colleague, institutional data will be available in a single database, giving faculty and administration the ability to make data-informed decisions and virtually eliminating manual processes and internal siloes. Southeastern will strengthen its digital presence, keeping students, faculty and staff engaged and productive. New capabilities will give students the ability to conduct school business online and provide insight into their academic progress, giving them a clear path from acceptance to graduation.
“The joint evaluation process gave us the opportunity to really explore the needs of Oklahoma state schools overall, while diving deeper specifically at Southeastern,” said Ellucian Senior Vice President of Product Management, Kari Branjord. “We are excited to partner with Southeastern to create needed efficiencies across campus and to help increase collaboration in higher ed throughout the state.”
