Western New England University Moves to Ellucian Colleague
After a competitive search process in 2016, Western New England University (WNE) chose Ellucian Colleague for its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software. WNE chose Colleague to further the university’s focus on student success and streamline business processes, allowing faculty and staff to more easily manage student information, financial aid, human resources, finance and advancement administration. Implementation of the new ERP provided WNE the opportunity to examine current business practices and streamline work processes.
“The foundation of the Western New England experience is an unwavering focus on and attention to each student’s academic and personal development,” said WNE Chief Information Officer Scott J. Coopee. “In order to achieve this truly personalized experience for our students, we needed to modernize the software solutions that support our students as they progress, and our university as it enters its second century.”
By replacing WNE’s internally developed systems with Colleague, the university is standardizing and better managing data flow, creating efficiencies across campus and developing standardized reporting and analytic capabilities. With Colleague, faculty and administration have access to institutional data in a single database, enabling more informed decision making and a comprehensive reporting strategy. And, students can conduct all school business online and have complete visibility in their academic progress.
