Chief Legal Officer

As Chief Legal Officer for Ellucian, Lisa Gilley leads the company’s global legal function, partnering with executives and institutions to support strategic initiatives and long-term growth.

Lisa joins Ellucian from Amazon Web Services (AWS), where she served in Global Deal Strategy and Programs on the Strategic Customer Engagements team, leading transformative commercial and generative AI initiatives. Prior to AWS, Lisa was Chief Legal Officer at Higher Logic, a JMI Equity portfolio company, where she modernized legal operations, mentored high-performing teams, and served as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders and private equity partners.

Earlier in her career, Lisa held senior legal roles at enterprise SaaS and technology companies, including serving as General Counsel at Phase2 Technology and Olympus Group. She also held legal and business affairs positions at AOL and Discovery Channel. In each role, she has consistently driven operational excellence, scaled legal teams, and provided strategic counsel to support innovation and business transformation.

Lisa holds a B.A. in English from the College of the Holy Cross and earned her J.D. from the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University.
