Gabriel Mendiola

Gabriel Mendiola is a Senior Business Analyst on the Technology Management team and is currently onsite at Texas A&M University in San Antonio, Texas. He joined Ellucian in 2016 and is a self-proclaimed “funky tech,” providing support to the application team (along with all of the functional areas) with the philosophy of “Let’s work smarter, not harder.” His passion is innovating and assisting the customer to utilize technology to ensure student success. He also thoroughly enjoys data mining and analytics to help every department and the university as whole to meet their mission and goals. Prior to joining Ellucian, Gabe was an Associate Director of Financial Aid at the University of Texas at San Antonio for over 10 years. While at UTSA, Gabe managed multiple teams that oversaw all institutional, state, and federal programs, including all grants and loans. It was there that he learned how to be a funky tech, gaining the knowledge and experience (and passion) to join the Ellucian team.

Gabe lives with his wife Rosie and three sons. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, bbq’ing/cooking, and listening to and playing all types of music. He grew up on military bases in California, Hawai’i and Okinawa, Japan. An interesting fact about Gabriel and his wife Rosie is that Rosie’s father was at one time a Roman Catholic priest, and prior to leaving, he was the priest who married Gabriel’s parents. Feel free to ask him about it anytime!
