Do communications impact a student’s college choice?

I did decide against one school because of the poor communication, because they sent me an email around acceptance time that said that I had been selected as a finalist for their honours programme, and that I should come down and interview. But they hadn't sent me my acceptance letter yet. And so, it was kind of confusing because I didn't know whether or not I'd been accepted. I just didn't really like the school after that.
My college sent me letters from the dean of the school, and they were all personalised for each student. So, they told you, basically, why you got in. My application had a lot to do with the community service that I do. And so, in the letter, it talked about all the community service opportunities at my college.
Then I know that some other students that also got in, if they were very musically talented or if they had something else that made them stand out in their application, then the dean focused on that in their letter. So, each letter was kind of different because it focused on your own application and not—it wasn't just a general, mass letter that was sent out to everyone.
