Higher Colleges of Technology 2.0 transformation project

In 1995, Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) purchased Banner™ by Ellucian and began an enduring partnership with Ellucian. Over the years, HCT has acquired substantial skills and experience with Ellucian technology and applications.

The partnership continues to evolve. HCT has a bold new vision for the institution and Ellucian has developed new technology that adds value to the core investment. Together, HCT and Ellucian are forging a new path to bring value to HCT’s students, faculty, staff, alumni, industry and community.

Ellucian can help HCT achieve its vision by both leveraging its current investment and knowledge of Ellucian systems, business practices, and resources as well as by adding new solutions to address emerging needs for student advising, student and alumni constituent relationship management (CRM), eProcurement and talent management.

Since its inception in 1988, Higher Colleges of Technology has maintained a complex and sophisticated information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure. Today, the question is: How can HCT leverage Banner™ by Ellucian technology in the cloud? Working together, HCT and Ellucian will assess current investments in hardware and staff, staffing gaps and hardware replacement costs to gain a better understanding of how HCT can make a smooth and successful transition to Banner in the cloud.

HCT is embarking on another dynamic set of developments for the people of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). As the CTO, this is an exciting time, facilitating both the ICT enablement that is required to support HCT 2.0 and also to lay out the path to leverage cloud technology. Underlying HCT 2.0 we will be completely changing the computing paradigm such that student mobility is the central hub. We are defining both an organisation transformation and a cloud journey for the institution that will be ground breaking in the region.
