Ellucian and D2L partner for Intelligent Learning Platform integration
- Ellucian and D2L have partnered to enable integration between their industry-leading solutions
- The integration lets institutions more easily manage the flow of information between their administrative functions and learning management system
Ellucian and D2L have partnered to enable integration between their industry-leading solutions, Ellucian Banner®, Ellucian Colleague® and Brightspace by D2L. The Intelligent Learning Platform (ILP) integration lets institutions more easily manage the flow of information between their administrative functions and learning management system (LMS), ultimately improving the overall teaching and learning experience.
Brightspace by D2L is an LMS that helps institutions deliver personalized learning in a classroom or online to people anywhere in the world. Created for the digital learner, Brightspace is cloud-based, runs on mobile devices and offers rich multimedia to increase engagement, productivity and knowledge retention. At the same time, analytics reports track and deliver insights into the performance levels of departments, courses or individuals.
The solution leverages Ellucian’s ILP and Brightspace Integration Pack for Student Information Systems (SIS), allowing for a quick, seamless implementation.
Administrators can easily set up and maintain data synchronizations, including the ability to control what data is synchronized and when.
The new integration provides real-time synchronization of users, courses, enrollments and grades, and the ability to surface Brightspace content in Ellucian applications. Making this information easily accessible encourages students and faculty to more actively engage with their institution’s Brightspace LMS content in the portal or on their mobile device through Ellucian Mobile, all with seamless single sign-on.
Built to encourage LMS adoption and streamline the user experience, Ellucian’s ILP was initially launched in 2010. Ellucian surveys show that institutions that have leveraged ILP have experienced increases of up to 48 percent in LMS adoption among their users, while eliminating time spent on administrative tasks by up to 33 percent and saving faculty hundreds of hours on grading and administration.
