Integration

Watermark’s mission is to put better data into the hands of administrators, faculty, and learners everywhere in order to empower them to connect information and gain insights into learning which will drive meaningful improvements. Through its innovative educational intelligence platform, Watermark supports institutions in developing an intentional approach to learning and development based on data they can trust.

Key features of the Ethos integration

Watermark Course Evaluations & Surveys (formerly EvaluationKIT) pulls courses, course sections, and student and instructor enrollments from Ellucian Banner and Colleague and refreshes data as needed to provide a strong and accurate foundation for running course evaluations and surveys. Easy to implement, and with no coding from your IT team required, you can set up the connection once; then when you set up a new round of evaluations, refresh enrollments, or launch a survey, you can do so with a quick search and the click of a button.

Watermark Curriculum Strategy (formerly SmartCatalog) pulls course titles, subjects, descriptions, credits and credit hours, and semester and department details directly from Ellucian Colleague and Banner through the Ethos API. With this connector, you can keep your course catalog in sync with your student information system, and publish new courses and course revisions back to your student information system as curriculum changes are approved, to ensure all course records are in sync.

Use case specifics

Watermark Course Evaluations & Surveys (formerly EvaluationKIT) pulls courses, course statuses, sections, section statuses, section instructors, section registrations, section registration statuses, persons, instructors, academic periods and academic levels from Ellucian Banner or Colleague. This data is used by Watermark Course Evaluations & Surveys (CES) as the foundation for determining who should be surveyed about which course(s) and instructor(s) for a particular term when the time comes to run a cycle of course evaluations or surveys from within the Watermark product. Once CES is connected to Ellucian Banner or Colleague, a CES administrator can manually initiate or schedule a refresh of these data from Banner or Colleague into Watermark, to ensure a survey cycle is using the most up-to-date enrollment data from the SIS.  The connector between Watermark Curriculum Strategy (formerly SmartCatalog) and Ellucian Banner or Colleague is bidirectional. First Curriculum Strategy pulls course titles, subjects, descriptions, credits and credit hours, and semester and department details from Ellucian Colleague and Banner, to use as the foundation for building your institutional course catalog. Then as new courses and course revisions are approved through the product’s Curriculum Management workflow, the connector pushes course titles, subjects, descriptions, credits and credit hours, and semester and department details back to Banner or Colleague to ensure the course records in your SIS account for these curriculum changes.
