Vetting Checklist

Eligibility Criteria

We begin by ensuring that the scholarship aligns with our mission and values. We assess whether applicants meet the eligibility criteria set by the scholarship provider.

Non-Discrimination Policy

We adhere to a non-discrimination policy. Scholarships or scholarship providers that promote discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or any other protected category will not be considered.

Financial Accountability

For scholarships with a financial component, we verify the financial stability of the scholarship provider to ensure that funds are disbursed reliably and ethically. Our policy is to only accept scholarships that do not require an application fee.

Application Review

Our team carefully reviews each scholarship application to review all required documents. This includes academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, essays, and any other specified materials. To prioritize the safety and privacy of users, our team has a strict policy against the inclusion of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in the application materials. PII includes, but is not limited to, details such as social security numbers, addresses, and financial information.

Legitimacy Verification

We take steps to verify the legitimacy of the scholarship provider. This involves researching the organization or individual offering the scholarship to confirm their credibility. Scholarship providers that may have been involved, past or present, in illegal activity are prohibited. To confirm authenticity of scholarship opportunities, the verification process includes confirming the physical address, phone number, country of origin, and scholarship history.

Evaluation of Purpose

We assess the purpose of the scholarship to ensure that it aligns with our commitment to supporting education and the goals of our recipients. Blog sites, scholarships requiring activities on social media, and providers who engage in Idea Harvesting do not fully align with our current standards. We prohibit scholarships seeking applicant information for marketing purposes or client database building.
