Technical College System of Georgia - Expand Course Availability with Cross Registration

Transcript

Ben Hall, Director of Student Information Systems, Technical College System of Georgia:
For us, cross registration is part of a larger project to make our course materials, our instructional capacity, really, everything that TCSG offers to make that available to any student in the state of Georgia. As we have begun the process of rolling out more and more systemwide technology, what we've discovered is that standardization across our system is essential.

Robbie Vickers, Executive Director, Enterprise Application Systems, Technical College System of Georgia:
What cross registration does is it allows us to utilize the instructional capacity that we have throughout the state. And so, what the campus will allow you to do is, "Hey, we've got an instructor, just have your students utilize the cross registration process and take the class with us." And that will allow them to keep their momentum going forward if our technology gets them to that goal faster and with cross registration.

You know, giving them the ability to take courses that they need when they need them regardless of whether their home institution is offering that course at a particular time, that gets them through the journey faster, and that's what we want them to succeed and to succeed quickly. Overall, it does a great job for our students and what we want to accomplish at all of our colleges.
